BWD Turbines Limited engineers can provide independent evaluations and troubleshooting of engine components during combustor, hot gas path and major inspections. Specialized non-destructive evaluation (NDE) services, such as eddy current, ultrasonic and fluorescent penetrant inspection can also be supplied where required. They can also provide a valuable overview of the condition of the machine condition or be tasked to solve specific operation and maintenance problems. |

Typical Approach / Work Scope
· Evaluate the recommendations given by the original engine manufacturer (OEM) on component repair/replace decisions, proposed design changes with respect to metallurgical, mechanical and service history considerations. · .Evaluate OEM or overhaul contractor maintenance procedures on and off site, especially hot section component NDE, rotor assembly and balancing. · Review and interpret vibration data generated by the permanent monitors mounted on the machine. Review the past operating history of the machine and any major modifications that have been implemented. Review historical vibration data of the machine from installation to the present time. Compare the results with the relevant BS, API, ISO or OEM recommendation. · Supervise the rebuilding and balancing of equipment at the manufacturer's plant on behalf of the customer. · Supervise the reconditioning of the hot section components at the repair vendor of choice or the manufacturer's plant on behalf of the customer. · Provide specialized NDE services such as ultrasonic, eddy current, magnetic particle and fluorescent penetrant inspection where required. |
